Beth Qadashim written in the ancient Canaanite script

Beth Qadashim
A Canaanite-Phoenician Virtual Temple

Sign of Tanit

y'shalam liku. Qadashim t' baraku t' shalmu:
(Peace unto you! May the Holy Ones bless you and give you peace! )

Peace unto you, and welcome to the virtual temple of Beth Qadashim! The name is Canaanite and means literally, "House of the Holy Ones". Temples in ancient Canaan and Phoenicia were typically refered to as "houses", and Qadash is a title, "Holy One" often used in reference to many of the ancient Canaanite deities, especially EL, the supreme semitic God, his consort Asherah, and sometimes Ashtart. Also, votary priestesses were refered to as Qadashim since they were considered holy because of their service to the deities.
We are planning with the Divine Help to soon complete the Virtual Temple, complete with a Virtual Temple Library! In the meantime, I have provided a links page with some excellent links for anyone interested in ancient or modern Levantine Paganism. There is also a postboard where you may post comments or questions, or list an upcomming pagan event.

Those whose names are inscribed will be remembered in prayers and wine libations before the Goddess.
